On 11th Oct, the 14th Global Mobile Broadband Forum (MBBF) hosted by Huawei was successfully held in Dubai, UAE. During the MBBF, Huawei teamed up with Hongdian and other industry partners to release the commercial stage results of RedCap. This is a key milestone for the RedCap industry, marking that RedCap has met the conditions for large-scale commercial use around the world. It will promote the new development of 5G applications and create a new base for digital connections.
During the event, Hongdian displayed a series of 5G RedCap products that can meet the diverse needs of industry application scenarios. As a "lightweight" 5G technology, RedCap has attracted much attention since its birth. It not only provides powerful 5G performance for IoT terminals, but also has advantages in size, power consumption, cost, etc., becoming a key technology for accelerating the popularization of 5G and entering the "light era".
In 2023, Hongdian focus on key aspects such as RedCap technical standards and industrial applications to jointly promote the development of the RedCap industry. In May, Hongdian joined hands with industry partners to establish the industry's first 5G RedCap Industry Alliance. Then in June, we jointly released the "5G RedCap Lightweight Universal Module Technical Requirements White Paper" with industry partners. In July, Hongdian's 5G RedCap industrial smart gateway has completed the RedCap terminal scenario verification at the Haitian Seasoning Factory and Midea Kitchen Dishwasher Factory. After testing, it fully meets the needs of digital production inside and outside the factory, and has been officially put into production and application.
At present, many leading international operators have completed RedCap technology verification or commercial pilots, laying a solid foundation for the promotion and application of RedCap globally. In the future, Hongdian will continue to work with global operators and industry customers , terminal module manufacturers and other industrial partners jointly promote the large-scale deployment of RedCap networks and promote the world towards a smarter and more convenient digital era.
