At key venues including the Yabuli Ski Resort, Harbin Ice Hockey Arena, Harbin Sport University Skating Hall, Harbin Pingfang District Curling Hall, and Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Sports Training Center, Hongdian’s 5G industrial gateways acted as a versatile "communication bridge." They seamlessly connected diverse networks, enabling rapid and accurate data exchange between devices. Beyond data transmission, these gateways offered real-time monitoring and data recovery functions, ensuring uninterrupted communication and data integrity even in harsh conditions.
The integration of 5G LAN and VXLAN technologies in Hongdian’s gateways enabled direct terminal-to-terminal communication and efficient Layer 2 connectivity between terminals and servers. This addressed challenges such as limited virtual machine scalability, insufficient network isolation, and restricted VM migration in traditional data centers. Additionally, the gateways’ high waterproofing, dust resistance, corrosion resistance, and wide bandwidth capabilities ensured reliable performance in extreme environments. For instance, at the Harbin Pingfang District Curling Hall, the gateways operated flawlessly in sub-zero temperatures, thanks to their low-temperature durability.
Amid the icy thrill of the Games, Hongdian’s 5G industrial gateways earned widespread acclaim as the "unsung heroes" of the event. By safeguarding network stability and security, they played an indispensable role in the success of the 2025 Asian Winter Games.
